Watercolor for Beginners

Dust off those paints buried in the closet, its time to play!

This creative space is for anyone that wants to learn the basics of watercolor painting. Like any new skill, it takes practice and patience to grow and progress in your work. This art group is a great place to find support and encouragement in your creative journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Anyone ages 18+ may participate in this event. Children ages 12+ may participate with a parent/guardian also participating.

  • This class is offered once a month. Dates will vary seasonally. Check the event calendar for the most current dates.

  • We will spend about 5-10 minutes reviewing supplies and answering related questions. We will then learn two basic techniques, wet in wet and wet in dry.

    After a short practice, the instructor will introduce the project and guide participants step by step to create the art piece. All projects are beginner friendly and require no previous experience. Unfortunately, due to multiple obligations, project images are not available before the class begins.

    This class is designed to be an open invitation to explore and play as we learn new skills. Classes are not recorded.

  • At a minimum, watercolor paint, watercolor paper, clean water and a synthetic round brush. Please see the full supply list below. You can also check out our Youtube channel for a review of the supplies we will be using.

  • We believe when we come together to create, something very special happens. Respect for self and others is a must.
